By definition, CrossFit is "constantly varied functional movement performed at high intensity." Sound intimidating or confusing? Don’t worry, it’s not!
CrossFit combines elements of Olympic Weightlifting, Powerlifting, Endurance and Gymnastics to improve your overall fitness. The aim is to gain strength, develop flexibility, and increase cardio and stamina. You will also work towards improving your speed, coordination, balance, agility and accuracy. The skills you develop in CrossFit will translate into other aspects of your life - being able to walk up the stairs without getting out of breath, play with your kids, carry heavy bags, etc.
Our workouts are constantly changing so that your body does not have a chance to adapt. We don’t want you to hit that plateau you may have experienced when doing the same workout regime week in and week out at previous gyms. Workouts are also performed at a high intensity to the best of your ability - quality of movement will always be more important than quantity!
You do not need any previous athletic experience to join this gym. We have members of all walks of life; some who have never worked out before and some who have competed at high level athletics. All that matters is that you’re committing to positive changes for your health and well-being. There is no judgement here at Transition CrossFit, just encouragement.
